As part of its commitment in delivering the most precise and reliable 3D vision technology for the inspection of transportation infrastructure, Pavemetrics continuously evaluate its product offering to ensure that it delivers high-quality products and services.
In alignment with this commitment and after careful consideration, Pavemetrics has made the decision to end both the hardware and software support of its LCMS-1 technology effective September 1st, 2025.
First introduced in 2010, the LCMS-1 played a crucial role in the success of the company, driving advancements in pavement and transportation infrastructure inspection. The last LCMS-1 unit was produced in March 2018, with the product formally phased out in March 2019, following the introduction of its successor, the LCMS-2 in 2018.
The growing scarcity and discontinuation of essential components for the LCMS-1 have significantly influenced this decision, making it increasingly difficult to maintain the high service standards that customers expect. It has also become increasingly challenging to offer the same level of algorithm development, enhancement and precision using LCMS-1 data that is offered for LCMS-2 users.
We understand that this transition may pose challenges to current LCMS-1 user. To assist its customers, Pavmetrics’ team will be proactively reaching out in the coming weeks to discuss available options, including trade-up programs to facilitate migration to the LCMS-2.
Additionally, customers who have recently renewed a Support and Maintenance plan—including extended warranties for their LCMS-1 units—will continue to receive service and support until the end of their purchased plan.
